I’m so lucky to be able to do what I love! I just registered for “Paint By Number” at the M.A.C. PRO Shop on Armitage in my beloved Chicago. Guest Artist David Gilmore will share all the tricks of the trade for applying acrylic body paint, something I’ve been wanting to learn for a while now. This interactive event is for PRO Members only and registration is on a first come, first served basis as the space for the event is limited. This event is being held at other M.A.C. PRO locations in the U.S. and Canada. Did I mention that I love my job?
Since Fall season is almost here, I decided to switch to my favorite red: “Blowing Raspberries” by butterLONDON. This red is perfect for my skin, as it is red without being too bright, and it’s not too pink or too orange. More importantly, butterLONDON is one of the the few brands who steer clear of Formaldehyde, Toluene, DBP, and Parabens, so this makes me happy! The polish works best with paired with a base coat and a top coat to prevent chipping (a serious fashion faux-pas).
On another note, I scored my beautiful ring from the Kezzmit shop on Etsy. The woman makes beautiful, earthy jewelry that is high quality and affordable! Check out her site for unique pieces.
I’ve blogged about OCC a MILLION times (okay not really a million but you get my drift) and now the highly coveted, highly pigmented lip tar is finally available at Sephora stores and online! Hurry and get your lip tar so you can finally understand WHY you need a little OCC in your life.
Once you start to accumulate cosmetic brushes and tools, your storing place can start to become messy and disorganized! It’s so easy to make the mistake of buying multiples of the same items when you don’t store your brushes in an efficient manner. I’ve been using large size kitchen utensil containers purchased from Marshall’s, to help me keep up with my brushes. The cups are nice and wide, and help me keep my work space neat! For $5.99 per cup, I have decreased my stress level and improved my working space!
I love, love, love my “Tarred” nail polish by Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics but I wanted to try something new by adding some Milani Jewel Fix Nail Lacquer in “Gems” for a little glitz on my tips. I like that Milani’s polishes are DBP, Toluene & Formaldehyde Free, which is very important to me, as I am always mindful of the chemicals present in so many products. You can find the Milani brand at Target Stores, CVS Pharmacies, or even order online at drugstore.com (although I did notice that “Gems” was not available on drugstore.com).
I received a new shipment of colors (Fleur de Fab, Girly Girl, Whimsical, Ganache, and Big Easy) and decided to play around with a few more shade I already own (Aztec and Caramel). Check out Magnolia Makeup‘s large assortment of pigments in colors that suit
every skin tone imaginable!
Leave me a message and tell me what you think of the color combos!
I’ve been talking about OCC for a while now and if you’ve been following my blog then you KNOW how much I LOVE Lip Tar! A little goes a LONG way and I am all about getting my money’s worth because I am a true beauty budget babe! Aside from OCC creating a vegan product that contains oils like Vitamin E and Peppermint, the Lip Tar is highly pigmented and dries to a beautiful matte so you wear it as it is or add gloss. Sephora is selling some of the most popular colors starting tomorrow: Anime, Grandma, and NSFW.
Check out the list of Sephora stores near you and grab those Lip Tars while you can! Hopefully, this will be a life long partnership between the wildly popular Sephora and the makeup line that is quickly becoming the darling of the industry!
