Hair Be Gone!

Recently, I had to have a “come to Jesus” conversation with my new relatives Mrs. Beard and her brother Mr. Mustache.  They pop up periodically on my face like those relatives you don’t want to see! Both of them know that I despise their sneaky, pesky, and coarse facial hair attacks that decide to make appearances at various times of the month, but I’ve found an easy solution.

Olay Facial Hair Removal Duo

Olay Facial Hair Removal Duo

In a past post, I wrote about hair removal for the face and my thoughts on which products worked best for me. I’m officially hooked on Olay Facial Hair Removal Duo! I know that I’m probably late to the party but I’ve been busy trying so many other skin and cosmetic products that it’s only now that I’ve been able to use this product and report my findings. Unlike other home removal hair products, Olay does not include wipes and oils. Instead, the removal system (for hair textures ranging from fine to coarse) contains one balm that you massage into the area being treated before using the actual removal cream, which comes in a slim tube with an applicator at the tip. Olay did a great job with keeping the application process simple and they figured out how to almost completely eliminate that noxious odor that usually accompanies facial hair removal creams.

After removing the cream with a tissue and rinsing with lukewarm water, Mrs. Beard and Mr. Mustache had been officially evicted! On a serious note, I have dry, sensitive skin along with eczema, so I was elated to my skin felt smooth and suffered zero irritation issues. The removal system is available at your local mass merchandise stores (I purchased mine from Target) and the price tag was a little heftier than other brands, but totally worth every penny!

L’Oreal RevitaLift Miracle Blur is Magic. That’s All.

*Note: The photos show me before applying the product, and after my cleansing and prepping regime.

As much as I want to believe advertisers when they make claims about their fantastic products, I am usually skeptical. I’ve spent countless amounts of money over the years trying out mascaras that claim to give me tarantula-length lashes, glosses that claim to give me Angelina Jolie lips, and face creams that miraculously erase 20 years off my face! A while back, Allure sent me a full-sized tube of L’Oreal RevitaLift Miracle Blur to review, which supposedly has the ability to instantly make your skin smoother and virtually “blur” lines on your face. My immediate reaction was, “Yeah, right.”  In fact, it took me a while to really use the product beyond the recommended time for the review.

I’m so happy L’Oreal proved me wrong. I cannot live without RevitaLift! Okay, I could live

without Miracle Blur but that would make me very sad. After reading the instructions, I cleaned, added moisturizer, and primed my face. I applied the silky, thick (but not oily) cream to my face and was instantly a convert. My face was extremely smooth, and those pesky little lines on my forehead looked as if they’d been erased. I had to readjust my eyeglasses and do a double take! Not only did my skin appear flawless, but I really loved that RevitaLift contained sunscreen (and should be used as such). I’ve tried the product with and without foundation and I do think that if you decide to use it as the final step before foundation, you make sure that you’re sufficiently moisturized and primed first. Those extra steps help RevitaLift to really do what it claims to do.

Protecting my skin is just as important as making it look good, and that should always be your priority too. I’ve sufficiently squeezed out each precious drop, and so it’s time for a replacement. You can purchase L’Oreal RevitaLift Miracle Blur at mass merchandise stores like CVS, Target, and Walgreens.

Nail Polish by OCC and Milani

I love, love, love my “Tarred” nail polish by Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics but I wanted to try something new by adding some Milani Jewel Fix Nail Lacquer in “Gems” for a little glitz on my tips. I like that Milani’s polishes are DBP, Toluene & Formaldehyde Free, whichOCC in "Tarred" and Milani in "Gems" is very important to me, as I am always mindful of the chemicals present in so many products. You can find the Milani brand at Target Stores, CVS Pharmacies, or even order online at (although I did notice that “Gems” was not available on

Free Spa Treatment!

ImageOkay, you’re not actually getting a FREE spa treatment however, if you purchase Olay Regenerist Thermal Mini-Peel, you will certainly FEEL like you just got a free spa treatment. I have been using this product for about two weeks and wanted to share with you all how fabulously smooth my skin feels! Olay’s daily treatment not only exfoliates your skin with glycolic acid, but also gives dry skin the hydration it need. I love the water activated self-heating formula which really warms my face and gives that “spa-like” feel. For the budget beauty babes, the retail cost of $18.99 at Target Stores won’t break the bank but you will still feel like you’re doing something special for yourself!
