I believe in the power of purple, as it is my one of my most favorite colors on planet earth! For me, purple means power, royalty, lushness, and Prince (Rest In Power). Purple is sexy, and purple, specifically Ultra-Violet, is Pantone’s color of the year. Today, I felt like playing around with some of my favorite shades of the royal color and used quite a few brands to achieve the looks listed below. I took the liberty of posting the brands as well as the colors used to take the guesswork out, just in case you want to duplicate the look!
If you’re reading this, you’re just in time to create a sexy and sassy look for all of the St. Patrick’s Day festivities that taking place all over the U.S. tonight! If you’re NOT venturing out into the Land O’ Green and Gold, you can still work this Green and Gold fabulous look! I’m under the weather and won’t be celebrating my 1/16th percent Irish heritage tonight, however, I was inspired today by all the green and gold photos I’ve seen so I decided to do a cute look for those who are partaking in the green beer this evening! Before I applied any shadow, I used some Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer in “Eden” in order to prep my lids and give me hint of shimmer. Then, to the brow and inner tear duct areas, I applied CoverGirl Eye Enhancers Shadow in “Gold Sizzle”. I followed up those same areas with a layer of M.A.C. Eyeshadow in “Amber Lights”, a popular golden/bronze shadow, that I also used as an undereye liner (just dab a wet angled brush in the shadow and line the eyes). Next up, GREEN, GREEN, GREEN! I used 2 different green shadows to achieve my St. Paddy’s Night Time Look. Urban Decay in “Mildew” was applied on the lids starting from the inner corner to mid lid, then I followed up with L’oreal HIP Metallic Shadow Duos in “Gunmetal”, only using the rich, darker, shimmery green of the two choices. I also used that same dark green to line right above the line I made with the M.A.C. shadow. You with me so far? Next, I lined both upper and lower lashlines with a soft, black eyeliner, and followed up with 2 coats of Maybelline Volum’ Express Falsies Mascara in Blackest Black.
Make sure you pencil and powder in your eyebrows one shade lighter than your haircolor, to avoid a harsh, dramatic look that is dated. I use various pencils but I love the Sephora Eye pencils with a corresponding shadow. You have to try out different ones until you find the combo you love.
Alright, NOW you’re ready to bat those pretty eyes of yours, while you sip that green beer! Send me some pictures if you decide to try this look or leave me a comment!
